This junior chess club has been held at Glyndon Community Centre, London SE18 since April 2006, and is the very first children’s chess club to open in Royal Greenwich.  It’s on every Friday between 4 – 6pm during term time and children who are absolute beginners can come to learn how to play chess.
It is just one of the many clubs run by the Richard Weekes Chess Academy in SE London

If you live in Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbeywood, Charlton or Thamesmead and you’d like your child to learn chess, you are invited to bring them along so I can teach them the many benefits of playing chess. Their confidence will improve and they’ll also develop important life skills while they’re learning to play.  It’s a game that most children will enjoy learning to play with the right type of encouragement.
